One of SUBCON Thailand’s most successful programs is to invite Japanese manufacturers in the automotive, machinery, electrical and electronic components industries from Japan and Indonesia to participate in the Business Matchmaking program with SUBCON exhibitors. Through collaboration with the Industrial Linkage Development or BUILD from the Board of Investment (BOI), the Mould Industry Association of Thailand and UBM Asia (Thailand) Co., Ltd. SUBCON has been promoted in Japan since January 2012.

Krasstec Co., Ltd. has been an importer of industrial machinery since 1997. Most of their brands are from Germany and used in the sheet metal industry. They include TRUMPF, RAS, BOSCHERT, HAINBUCH, BOELLHOFF and many others. Last year the company grew 20% and we were privileged to be granted a special Interview with the Managing Director, Mr. Kitti Tangsongtham whose thoughts and ideas are expressed in the following interview.

Impact of recent Thai flooding

“Most of Krasstec’s customers are not in the electronic industry, therefore the flood situation had very little impact on us,” said Mr. Kitti.  In fact, last year we were able to conduct business as usual. The machines and equipment sold at the end of last year was not much affected by the flood because our customers had already planned to purchase machines from us at INTERMACH and Sheet Metal Asia 2011 then made decision at the end of last year. Starting this year the market is still growing and the feedback from the customers has been satisfying until now.”   ++ อ่านต่อ ++

The Industrial and Automotive parts Association, and Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) expects 2012 to be good for the first half of the year and better as the year progresses, with automotive production reaching 2 million units by December. This can be broken down into Domestic vehicle sales of 1 million and Exports of 1 million. Mitsubishi and Suzuki will contribute by launching their new Eco car series. There will, of course, be many other new models produced that are not Eco cars. And the government plans to allow flood victims who buy a new car that replaces a damaged one, the right to receive the same excise tax rebate as participants in the first-time buyer program. Under the scheme, consumers buying their first car in their own name will receive a rebate on the excise tax paid from the Excise department. The maximum rebate will be Bt.100,000.
